Cool Stamps from the US Postal Service
The US Postal Service has recently issued some cool stamps that comic book and Star Wars fans will love. Even though I’m not much into stamp collecting, I had to pick up these stamp sheets.
The USPS has issued a new set of Super Heroes stamps featuring ten of best known Marvel Super Heroes on July 25, 2007. This set known as Chapter Two is a follow up to the Chapter One collection issued last summer featuring the DC Universe characters including Superman, Batman, Wonder Women and others.
The Super Heroes in the latest collection include Captain America, Elektra, Iron Man, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Sub-Mariner, The Incredible Hulk, The Thing and Wolverine.
The other 10 stamps depict Marvel comic book covers. The comic book covers include Amazing Spider-Man #1, March 1963; Captain America #100, April 1968; Daredevil #176, November 1981; Fantastic Four #3, March 1962; Iron Man #1, May 1968; Marvel Spotlight #32, February 1977; Silver Surfer #1, August 1968; Sub-Mariner #1, May 1968; The Incredible Hulk #1, May 1962; and X-Men #1, September 1963.
As a part of the 30th anniversary of Star Wars, the USPS began issuing a 15 stamp collection featuring images from all six Star Wars movies on May 25, 2007.
The stamp images include Luke Skywalker; Han Solo and Chewbacca; Princess Leia with R2-D2; C-3PO; Yoda; Queen Amidala; Obi-Wan Kenobi as seen in Episodes IV through VI; Anakin Skywalker battling Obi-Wan Kenobi; Darth Vader; Emperor Palpatine; Darth Maul; Stormtroopers; Boba Fett; the Millennium Falcon; and an X-wing starfighter.
